From local sawmills to
Scandinavia's largest producer of wooden packaging.
Like the trees, DTE’s roots
have been planted firmly in Danish soil for many years
Since 1915, we have developed and grown from being small sawmills in Denmark to becoming Scandinavia’s largest specialist in wooden packaging.
We have called ourselves Dansk Træemballage (Danish Wooden Packaging) A/S since 1989, when Haastrup Træemballage (Haastrup Wooden Packaging) on Funen merged with Ribe Emballage (Ribe Packaging). But in reality, our history goes back much further. The sawmill in Haastrup was founded in 1915, while Ribe Emballage had its origins in the defunct Ribe Stampemølle. According to the records, Ribe Stampemølle was built in 1581 – at the time when Tycho Brahe founded modern astronomy! Today we have 542 employees with 11 production facilities in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
